Cactus accessories at Super Nintendo World seem to be based on a fan game

It looks like someone working on the cactus props at Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World theme park may have mistakenly built them to look like cacti appearing in a The new Super Mario Bros. Wii fan mod. Oops!

As seen by Twitter user Meatball132, the cacti in question can be clearly seen in a video recorded and uploaded by the YouTube channel Universal Parks Today News.

Cacti can be seen walking with Yoshi’s adventure. These props don’t just look like the same cactus patterns seen in fan mode, Wii Super Mario Bros newer, but instead they are almost identical lines. You can even see a cactus accessory at Super Nintendo World that has a pink flower placed in the same place as the cactus mode.

As Meatball132 pointed out, it looks like anyone working on this accessory could have searched on Google. “The new Super Mario Bros. Wii cactus ”and did not realize that the cactus that appeared as one of the top results does not come from an official game, but from a fan mode released in 2013.

I can’t wait for Nintendo to send Nintendo and Universal to stop.

Moreover, this is not the first example of fan-watching content used by Super Nintendo World. Last month, an artist suggested that Nintendo and Universal had used the 3D rendering of the artist for Mario on the park’s official website. What kind of rinky ships are running there?
