Buy AirTags: price, release date, when new Apple location tags go on sale

You’ve been waiting for them for years and now they’re here: New Apple AirTags. Apple has unveiled the new trackers Spring Loaded virtual launch event Tuesday. Similar to tracking plates, AirTags are designed to help you find lost items such as keys, backpack and more.

You can slip circular devices inside an object you often wear, such as a purse, or connect it using one of Apple’s Hermés designed keychain holders. Then you can track where your AirTags are with Find my app on the iPhone.

When you can buy AirTags

You can pre-order this Apple AirTags Friday, April 23 at 5 a.m. PT (8 a.m. ET). They will be available in stores a week later – Friday, April 30.

How to buy AirTags

Initially, AirTags will only be available on Apple’s website and in its stores, but we expect them to be available at other Apple-authorized retailers in the near future.

1. Go to AirTags product page on the Apple website.

2. Choose how many you want to buy – you can select one or four. Choosing the latter will save you $ 17 than buying them individually.
