Bruce Springsteen was arrested for DWI and reckless driving in his home state, it was revealed on Wednesday – a few days after he appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep.
The 71-year-old “Born to Run” icon was arrested Nov. 14 at the Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook, New Jersey, a National Park Service spokesman said.
Springsteen was charged with DWI, reckless driving and drinking in an enclosed area, the spokesman said.
“Springsteen cooperated throughout the process,” the spokesman added.
According to TMZ, which first reported the arrest, Bruce allegedly had a court meeting in the coming weeks and had no previous problems with DWI.
The Springsteen representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The news about the bust came just days after Springsteen appeared and told a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep, in which he implored the Americans to move to the political “middle” in the spirit of unity, in the middle of the recent bitter division.
