CLEVELAND – Nick Chubb wasted no time in giving the Cleveland Browns an early lead at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
He crossed his Pittsburgh defense – then went through the Steelers’ safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick – to lift Cleveland 7-0 with a 47-yard touchdown shot.
Chubb had 61 meters on the opening unit, which put him over 1,000 meters in the season.
Chubb is the Browns’ first player to rush for a 40-yard touchdown against the Steelers since Jim Brown scored from 48 yards on Oct. 19, 1958, according to Elias.
The touchdown gave him 12 rush scores for the year – the highest by a Browns player since Leroy Kelly was 16 in 1968.
