Broward Health has announced that it will start administering the COVID-19 vaccine to some members of the public starting Wednesday – before later saying they are full of appointments in February.
Patients must meet the following criteria:
- People aged 65 and over
- Broward Health accredited physician office staff
- Emergency medical service staff
- Unaccredited Community healthcare providers who do not have access to the vaccine, as well as office staff
Vaccines are also available to all Broward Health employees and accredited medical staff at Broward Health Hospitals.
Eligible community members must call the Broward Health’s Nurse Connect line at 954-759-7500 to schedule an appointment.
“We are doing everything we can to increase capacity and fully restore services,” officials said in a statement. “We apologize for any inconvenience as we try to meet the needs of our community.”

Broward Health aims to vaccinate 15-20 people per hour, which will add up to about 150 people a day.
“This is monumental and reaches an important moment in this pandemic that we can offer the vaccine to our citizens who meet the criteria,” said Dr. Aldo Calvo, medical director of outpatient services.
Cleveland Clinic and Jackson Health System have announced that they will begin launching vaccines to certain members of the public.
