Broward Health announced Friday that it has opened COVID-19 vaccine programs for people at risk of age 18 and older.
As of Friday afternoon, all appointments have been met, according to a Broward Health spokesman. It is unclear when the health care system will open another batch of meetings, but it will most likely be next week.
Patients aged 18 years and over who meet one of the following high-risk groups are eligible for vaccination by appointment only:
- Asthma (moderate to severe)
- Cancer
- Cerebrovascular disease
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD
- Cystic fibrosis
- Down syndrome
- Heart conditions such as (heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathy)
- High blood pressure or high blood pressure
- Immunocompromised status from blood or bone marrow transplantation, immune deficiencies, HIV, use of corticosteroids or use of slimming drugs or solid organ transplantation
- Liver disease
- Neurological conditions, such as dementia
- Overweight or obese (body mass index greater than 25)
- Task
- Pulmonary fibrosis
- Sickle cell disease
- Smoking
- THALASSEMIA
- Type 1 diabetes
- Type 2 diabetes
Patients are asked to fill out a vaccination consent form, which has been removed from the Broward Health website since Friday afternoon.
Broward Health says it vaccinates more than 1,000 people a day at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Lockhart Park. The public can register for appointments at BrowardHealth.org.
