George Paton was introduced as Broncos general manager today, and the executive gave a careful response when he explained how it would help restore a winning culture in Denver.

“There will be no shortcuts” Paton said (via the team’s website). “We will embrace every day [process], we will embrace the grinding and do it together. … We will be progressive, innovative, future-oriented and use all the information we have to make the best informed decisions. ”

Paton also noted the importance of hitting the project and being innovative in assessing potential acquisitions.

“Writing and developing players will be our foundation”, Paton said. “It will be the essence of the life of this football team.”

Paton joined Broncos on a six-year contract. In the restructured office, Paton and the head coach Vic Fangio will report to John Elway, which will have less to do with the daily decisions of the team list.
