Britt Reid is no longer part of the head coaching team

Britt Reid is no longer a member of the Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff.

The 35-year-old son of the head coach, Andy Reid, was laid off during his contract, which has expired since then, which means he is no longer employed outside the club, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Chiefs announced on Tuesday that Britt Reid was on administrative leave during an investigation into a traffic accident that left two young children injured, one critical.

Britt Reid was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday near the team’s training facility near Arrowhead Stadium. He did not travel to the Tampa Bay Super Bowl, where they lost to the Chiefs, 31-9.

He told police he had “two or three drinks” and received a prescription for Adderall when the accident occurred, according to a search warrant filed late Thursday night. Police said they were investigating whether Reid, who had a history of drunk driving, was affected before the accident.

The NFL is investigating whether Reid violated the league’s personal conduct policy.

Ariel Young, 5, has been identified by bosses as the girl from the crash and remains in critical condition since Tuesday. The team also said it has contacted her family and offers support and resources.

Kansas City police said the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. Thursday when a truck hit two vehicles on the side of a highway entry ramp. They also said that a report on the investigation will be issued within 30 to 60 days.

After the loss of the leaders in the Suoer Bowl on Sunday, Andy Reid spoke about this issue for the first time.

“My heart goes out to those involved, to the families of those girls who are fighting for their lives,” Reid said. “From a human point of view, my heart bleeds for them.”

Thursday’s accident was not the first time the tragedy has hit Andy Reid’s family.

His son, Garrett, died at the age of 29 from an accidental drug overdose during Eagles training camp in 2012. Britt was sentenced to 8 to 23 months in prison plus five months probation. for gun and drug charges in 2007.
