British model Stella Tennant died on Tuesday, at the age of 50, in the Scottish town of Duns, as her family confirmed in a statement on Wednesday.
“Stella was a wonderful woman and a source of inspiration for all of us. She will be missed,” her family said in the note.
A Scottish by birth, Tennant became famous in the early 1990s, playing in photo shoots in the most prestigious magazines and publications, such as Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar, among others.

She also stood out on the catwalks around the world, where she paraded the creations of top couturiers, and her face was associated with global brands such as Calvin Klein, Chanel and Burberry.
Retired from fashion, she attended the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics with other well-known British supermodels, including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
In the same year, she was introduced to the Scotland of Scotland Fashion Hall of Fame, in recognition of a long and successful career.
The family said in a statement calling for “privacy” that it would publish more details about the funeral “later”.
Scottish police also reported today that officers of the corps showed up at an address in Duns on Tuesday, around 11:30 local time, in response to the “sudden death of a 50-year-old woman”.
Law enforcement said no “suspicious circumstances” were detected.
