One of the greatest trades in Detroit Lions history is now officially completed. The deal that brought QB Jared Goff and a number of selection projects to Detroit in exchange for QB Matthew Stafford officially hit NFL cards and transactions on Thursday.
As a result, we now know the compensation by choosing the project that the lions receive in the agreement.
According to the NFL’s trading journal, the Rams are sending the lions their first-round options in 2022 and 2023. That’s known. The question was the third round of 2021. It will be a compensatory choice and not a regular choice in the third round of the Rams.
Los Angeles has two comp selections in the third round, and the exact selection is not explicitly listed in the transaction log. So instead of the number 88 in general, it’s either the number 101 or the number 103.
The processing of the transaction was postponed for a day, so that the Rams were responsible for the $ 2.5 million bonus of the Goff contract. This could have been taken into account in the negotiations for which the election of the third round ends in Detroit.
In terms of contracts, Goff will earn $ 25,650,000 in 2021, with the exception of the fully guaranteed $ 650,000. The Lions are officially privately held for $ 33 million in the dead ceiling for trading the Stafford contract on Over The Cap.
