Brazilian witness Maluf Cardoso says he does not know the facts about Odebrecht in the DR

Santo Domingo, RD.

Brazilian witness Rodrigo Maluf Cardoso, who said he participated in the leniency agreements signed by Odebrecht and Brazil, admitted “not knowing the facts about the Dominican Republic.”

Odebrecht has admitted to paying $ 92 million in bribes in the country to take over public works.

Asked by Ángel Rondón’s defense, accused of receiving and distributing bribes, about his relationship with the agreement signed between Odebrecht and the Dominican Republic, Cardoso said he had no relationship with the agreement with the country, except for the letter on who signed it and who was presented during the trial as evidence.

The witness explained that he signed the letter because he had received a request from the Dominican Republic, and Dantas Bezerra was not available at the time.

“I’m only here because I signed that letter and also to clarify any point that concerns me,” Cardoso said.
