Bowers & Wilkins launches PI7 and PI5 premium wireless headphones

Bowers & Wilkins has launched PI7 and PI5, two new true models of wireless headphones, which it says do not compromise “sound quality for wireless comfort.” PI7 supports Qualcomm aptX Adaptive wireless transmission from compatible mobile devices. This allows it to provide premium audio quality, while also ensuring that the sound is synchronized while using your headphones in a place where a lot of other people are using Bluetooth headsets.

The model also has Adaptive Noise Cancellation, which can analyze ambient noise and adapt its production for the best possible experience. This feature works with the six headset microphones to provide clear sound quality for phone calls. The company says that each PI7 headset has a 9.2 mm Bowers & Wilkins drive unit and has similar specifications to the conventional advanced speaker.

Meanwhile, the PI5 supports Qualcomm’s TrueWireless Stereo Plus technology, which allows high-quality headset synchronization with headphones. The model is also capable of transmitting aptX wirelessly for CD quality playback and comes with a user-selectable noise canceling capability, along with two built-in microphones per headset.

The PI7 has a battery life of four hours, while the PI5 can last up to 4.5 hours on a single charge. These are comparable to the life of the AirPod Pro battery, but are quite short for 2021 models, especially at their price – Galaxy Buds Pro for $ 200, for example, can last up to five hours with ANC and Bixby hands-free on.

Both models support Siri and Google Assistant, depending on the associated device, and both can be associated with multiple sources. They come with a charging case, as you would expect, but the PI7 has an interesting feature: it can connect to a 3.5mm cable or USB audio source and then retransmit wireless audio from that source to headphones.

Some retailers have already listed premium headphones for pre-order. Now, however, they are officially available from Bowers & Wilkins in white and charcoal. PI7 will refund you $ 399, while PI5 will cost you $ 249.
