Like their own fights with bosses, Border countries 3 keep going. Today, Gearbox revealed details about Director’s Cut, a future DLC for the March 18 shooter-shooter.
Director’s Cut will add a series of recurring challenges called Vault Cards, concept art, storyboards and something that players have been asking for for a long time: a raid leader.
Like the Crawmerax Invincible in the first game, this new raid leader – a giant, fire-fighting varkid called Hemovorous – is also suffixed “The Invincible”. Do you know that Pandora’s door that was locked from day one? Hemovore lives behind her. You will have to raise 500 Eridium each time to unlock the door and start the fight.
Director’s Cut DLC also adds story-based side quests. One, with the mermaid becoming Ava, focuses on a string of interstellar murder mysteries. Apparently, the narrative is made like a podcast, as if Serial it wasn’t fashionable seven years ago.
Director’s Cut is the second part of Border countries 3the subscription for the second season, which sells for $ 30 and includes last fall Designer’s Cut DLC. Seasonal season ticket holders also receive a bonus set of cosmetics that are not available through individual expansion purchases. (You can partially pick up Designer’s Cut for $ 15.)
G / O Media may receive a commission
Gearbox originally described Designer’s Cut as a “roguelike experience,” which is just a kind. Designer’s Cut DLC sends you to a new area – the Snowy Snowblind Complex – and clears your load. You have to get new equipment and fight waves of enemies, all while an invading storm constrains the map, in order to finally take a boss (relatively easy). You can add any earned equipment to various kiosks around the map, allowing you to keep it permanently. If anything, it’s more of a royale co-op fight than a roguelike, but hey, what are the terms?
The Broken Hearts Day seasonal event also runs from tomorrow until February 25. Broken Hearts Day is brilliant for its simplicity. Color-coded hearts float around the world. Shoot them. Take the prey. Like most Border countries 3 events, you will be able to activate or deactivate, but it is not clear why someone would actively close something that grants a whole rainbow of skittles.
Ever since he hit the shelves 18 months ago, Border countries 3 received four additional campaign expansion, all this being part of the first pass of the season. And then, out of nowhere, Gearbox has announced the second season passes last fall. Just like any of the battles with the game’s bosses – including, presumably, Hemovoros the Invincible –Border countries 3 keep going.
Beyond Border countries 3, Tell stories Stories from border countries will return on digital showcases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on February 17th. One hiccup: the relaunched version of the game will no longer contain those screens at the end that compare your choices with those of other players.
