Boomer Esiason downloads Steve Cohen for GameStop Madness

The failure of the GameStop action debacle makes Boomer Esiason commit to not going to games anymore.

The WFAN host on Friday morning went after Mets owner Steve Cohen for his alleged involvement and reaction to the chaos of GameStop actions and said he would not go to the Mets “until I find out exactly what is happening here.”

“And Steve Cohen sent [a tweet] except (Thursday) that I didn’t like David Portnoy saying, “I’m just trying to make a living, just like you,” Esiason said. “Hey, I don’t want to hear that from you, you know what I mean?” You have a billionaire hedge fund. Just keep your mouth shut.

“The other thing is, he pulled out another, ‘Hey jockeys, get them.’ So he portrays the Reddit WallStreetBets people as “stock jockeys” and takes pictures of them as if they know what’s going on because he’s sitting in this seat of the hedge fund that makes all these decisions. I hate. That’s why I told you this morning, when I walked in, I said, “You know what? I swear to God I won’t go to another Met game until I find out exactly what’s going on here. In fact, it makes my stomach sick. ”

Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management and other Citadel hedge funds reportedly invested $ 2.75 billion in Melvin Capital Management, which was crushed after a brief attempt to tighten GameStop shares.

“Tough crowds on Twitter tonight,” Cohen, whose net worth is estimated at $ 14.6 billion, posted on Twitter on Wednesday night. “Hey, stock jockeys keep bringing them.”

The saga took another turn on Thursday, when the Robinhood application restricted trading on shares such as GameStop. This prompted David Portnoy of Barstool Sports to accuse Cohen of having a hand in these restrictions, which Cohen denied “unequivocally.”

In the middle of going back and forth on Twitter, Cohen had replied to Portnoy, “I’m just trying to make a living just like you.”

But Cohen’s tweets about the GameStop saga weren’t very good for Esiason.

“I don’t have to hear that shit,” the former Jets defender said, noting the Mets fan. “That’s why when you have a baseball team and you want to start posting on Twitter like you’re the big fan you are, you start putting yourself in these situations, you just don’t feel good.”
