Representative Lauren Boebert’s communications director (R-Colo.) Has resigned in the wake of last week’s deadly assault on the Capitol. Axios reported.
“After the events of January 6, I have decided to leave the office,” Ben Goldey told Axios in a statement. “I wish her and the people in Colorado’s Third District the best.”
Goldey went on to quote last week’s riot that resulted in five deaths, according to the news outlet. The riot came when Congress certified the president-elect Joe Biden

According to Axios, Goldey was reportedly on the job for less than two weeks at his time of discharge. Before joining Boebert, he was press secretary for the Ministry of the Interior and previously worked for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

In a statement to The Hill, Boebert’s chief of staff, Jeff Small, said: “The office does not comment on internal personnel matters with individual employees. Rep. Boebert has hired a large team, fulfilled all personnel functions in her office and has taken off. . ”
“Rep. Boebert looks forward to focusing on and serving the interests of the people of the Third Congressional District,” the statement continued.
Boebert has faced intense reactions to her actions that some say contributed to the riot, including tweeting about the location of lawmakers.
