Bobby Lashley could fight the WWE World Champion three times

Bobby Lashley started one of WrestleMania 37 with a successful title defense over Drew McIntyre. The All Mighty era is set to continue on Monday night RAW and all eyes are now on the next challenger of the WWE title.

Dave Meltzer speculated about possible plans for Bobby Lashley at the 37th post-WrestleMania edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer explained that the conclusive completion of Bobby Lashley’s match against Drew McIntyre did not indicate a rematch:

“The problem is, and again, I don’t know. I’ll probably ask tomorrow, but in terms of what I’m doing, like. Okay, so it wasn’t really a good ending to build a rematch, and even so, I don’t think WrestleMania should be a show in the WrestleMania title game, when babyface is watching, that you’ve set a finish for Backlash or Money in the Bank or whatever, like, you can do that in the show before “WrestleMania, but I wouldn’t do it at WrestleMania. That wasn’t an end you would make anyway to build a rematch.”

Bobby Lashley vs. The Fiend?

Meltzer highlighted the lack of credible baby faces to face a heel champion like Bobby Lashley. Brock Lesnar is not expected to return soon. WWE could end up reserving “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a story with Bobby Lashley.

Meltzer said The Fiend is the only first-rate baby face on RAW that can have a program with Bobby Lashley.

Fiend is also the favorite to beat Randy Orton on the second night of WrestleMania 37. Wyatt could then be rewarded with another WWE title:

“What a babyface, in theory; it could even be a heel; who’s still facing Lashley if it’s not Drew? Brock won’t be back next month. The Devil is an answer that scares me to death. Here’s the thing, the Devil probably “I beat Randy Orton; I mean, I’d think so, God, could you imagine? It’s the only thing I can think of. Why would you beat Drew? The only reason Lashley should Defeating Drew is because he’s going to set up another baby face, “Meltzer said.

Meltzer ruled out the possibility of Sheamus being booked with Bobby Lashley.

Meltzer said the possibility of a rematch between Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at the next PPV could be a possibility. However, the WrestleMania 37 finish was not ideal for setting up a compelling rematch scenario:

“I do not see that it is Sheamus; I don’t know if Sheamus is a baby or a heel; he goes back and forth in the middle of each promotion. But Sheamus has already been established as someone who is not at Drew’s level. So who is the next big strong baby and it will probably be The Fiend. So it’s kind of a direction I can only come up with if they don’t let Lashley get a rematch, but if he had Lashley go for a rematch, what a suggestive finish it was! “

Bobby Lashley will enter RAW after WrestleMania 37 as WWE Champion, and WWE should ideally reveal his next opponent in the episode.
