Warning: spoilers for Mandalorian are coming, chapter 16. Be careful!A post-credit scene after the end of Mandalorian’s season 2, “The Rescue”, announces Boba Fett’s book, which will take place in December 2021.
This seems to be a new show about the iconic bounty hunter, although there is a possibility that this will be the name of the next arc of the Mandalorian season. I contacted Disney and Lucasfilm for comments.
The episode – which also includes an appearance from the current Luke Skywalker (in old form) – ends with a short scene in which Boba and Fennec Shand pay a violent visit to Jabba Hutt’s Palace, which is now apparently run by Bib Fortuna. After sending his old friend, Boba sits on Jabba’s throne and we see that “Boba Fett’s Book” appears, before confirming the launch in December 2021.
If this is a show, it could be a unique series of events, in line with the upcoming Disney + series Obi-Wan Kenobi and Lando Calrissian.
Boba Fett’s book would join a long list of emerging Star Wars shows, along with those announced and discussed at the recent Disney Investor Day – along with Obi-Wan and Lando, there are also Andor, The Acolyte, Rangers of the New Republic, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch and Visions.
The announcement comes just a day after the sad news that Boba Fett’s original actor, Jeremy Bulloch, died at the age of 75.
