COLUMBUS, Ohio – It only took five games and one last dust with coach John Tortorella for Pierre-Luc Dubois to get his wish.
Blue Jackets are about to trade their dissatisfied center number 1, sources told The Athletic late Friday, a deal that will probably be finalized this weekend, maybe even Saturday.
The Winnipeg Jets are believed to be first for Dubois, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger, but Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens and maybe another club are also in the mix.
The Blue Jackets have informed Dubois that there will be a healthy scratch for Saturday’s 2 p.m. game against Tampa Bay at the Nationwide Arena, provided he remains on the roster. This move is not punitive after its long Thursday, but rather about protecting assets.
Dubois almost certainly played his last game for the Blue Jackets.
