Black Ops’ Cold War attachment lets players see through the walls

If you played Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently and you found yourself killed in some rather unusual ways, there could be a good explanation. Apparently, one of the many attachments of the game now allows players to see the essential through the walls, gaining an important role in the competition.

Seen by u / AvHsA on Reddit, when you equip the Tiger Team Spotlight Body with a weapon, you can then see the names of the enemy players that appear while aiming. The attachment doesn’t reveal the exact outline of the opposing players, but if you can see their names in the game, well, it’s good enough to get them to fall on them. This is obviously a major problem and is something Treyarch should seek to resolve sooner rather than later.

It is worth noting that, starting with this writing, it is not clear how consistent this bug is in its entirety. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This trick was discovered on one of the game’s newest maps, Express, but it’s unclear if it’s a problem in all locations. Moreover, it is not really known if the same error is present with the Tiger Team Spotlight attachment when equipped with all weapons or if it causes this problem only with selected weapons.

As of this writing, Treyarch has said nothing about the error and may not be aware of its existence. It also doesn’t seem to be something that much Black Ops Cold War players noticed until recently. That being said, the longer you are in the game, the more players will start to know about it and probably take advantage of it. As such, Treyarch really needs to catch this fast or risk destroying the meta of Black Ops Cold War for the foreseeable future.

If we hear anything new about the studio’s plans to change this error, we’ll be sure to let you know in the future. Until then, you can play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War right now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
