It is truly astonishing how much President Biden chose in his early weeks to join the left wing of his party and his special interests – and even against moderate American wishes.
It is most evident in his madness on the Mexican border: President Donald Trump has devised perfectly reasonable human policies that have raised the record of Obama-era migrants at the border. However, Biden moved unnecessarily to kill Trump’s “Stay in Mexico” agreement and other agreements with clearly functioning Central American nations. Instead, he has set a temporary freeze on deportations and discusses plans to provide a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants.
All this has encouraged Central American migrants to hurry to the US border: already, the number of children crossing this year is on the beat of breaking the all-time record by 45%. And he had to resort to the notorious “cages” to keep the children who crossed without their families and it will only get worse as the summer takes place.
Meanwhile, its end to deportations is also leading to a return to “capture and release” – a public health hazard: more than 100 illegal border crossings released last week have tested positive for coronavirus, but they have emerged. And this is just one of the ways this policy is hitting border towns.
None of this makes sense: 55 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s restrictions on deportations, and only the far left is happy to see the border grow.
And even as they embrace open borders, they passively leave schools closed. Abandoning its promises to become the most open in its first 100 days, it now claims that it cannot be done without new vast federal spending contained in its “aid” bill – even if national schools have billions left. aid last year, and its proposed spending is mainly for years to come.
Science clearly shows that reopening does not pose a real health risk to students or adult staff, but the president only refuses to say a word of criticism from teachers’ unions (and the politicians he controls), which are undoubtedly the real barrier to the path of reopening. That’s why a few weeks ago, parish and private schools in the United States and public schools in low-union areas opened.
It has also become extremely green in terms of energy policy. Although most Americans support moderate efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, this does not cover its multi-billion dollar decarbonization plans for the entire country. With a single action, killing the Keystone XL pipeline, it killed thousands of good jobs in the US and cracked America’s good friend, Canada – while in fact hurt the environment, because Canadians will simply deliver their oil by rail and truck (which means more pollution and a higher risk of spills) to consumers who will burn it, probably in dirtier plants than here.
Then there’s cultural-war nonsense, such as his order requiring biological men to compete in girls’ sports – another policy most Americans disapprove of, according to a Harvard University and Harris Insights and Analytics poll. .
He is so reluctant to defy the strong left that he played along with the desire to cancel Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel, giving up all mention of the beloved author in the proclamation of Across America Day. It doesn’t matter that the day comes on March 2, because it is Seuss’ birthday, nor does the fact that the then president, Barack Obama and his wife, since 2015, have highlighted Seuss’s work for interns and children. “Almost everything you need to know is in Dr. Seuss,” Obama said. Hell, now Vice President Kamala Harris wished Seuss a happy 2017.
But the greedy left wants Seuss’s scalp, and Biden has forced the cancellation of an author who has shown countless millions that reading is fun.
Whether he fears the power of the left or has no real idea how extreme his administration is, the president rejects the sensitive center. Not only is he stupid, but he is doing the exact opposite of his inaugural vow to unify the nation.
