Beaten beach “thief” beaten, tied “like a market crab” | Additional news

A Mayaro “thief” who targeted a group of beach fitness enthusiasts had their meals returned on Saturday.

The 20-year-old man from Sham Road was subdued, tied up and handed over to the police.

In a social media post, one of the women in the fitness group recounted the ordeal.

She wrote: “People, we are safe, where you don’t know … this morning, my fitness team and I went to Mayaro beach to train and this man tried to rob my coach and to steal things that were left on the sand while driving along the beach at about 9:30 am. Well, who tells him to do that? “

The user of social networks said that the suspect tried to steal the coach’s phone, but it was not a match for the coach who, he described, is a trained fighter, of Maloney.

The fitness session turned into a self-defense class, while the coach subdued the suspect, placing him at one end, then snatched him to the floor.

The woman said the coach sought to advise the suspect, asking him why he was stealing from the beach.

“He said (to the coach): ‘Guys, things are a little difficult with me and (the coach) kept giving him $ 40 and telling him to leave. Well, the mistake this man made was to run back and try to grab his daughter’s coaching phone. The kid screamed. Well, do you know that crazy blood flies in the (coach’s) head? “, read the post.

Together with a female coach, they subdued the suspect again and tied him with a rope length “like a market crab”.

Mayaro police responded and arrested the suspect.

He was taken to the Mayaro police station and faces charges of theft.
