German club manager Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the coach’s departure at the end of the season is not planned
MUNICH – The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, ruled out the departure of the Bavarian coach at the end of this season, Hans-Dieter Flick, whose name is considered one of the possible successors of Joachim Löw at the head of the national team.
Speaking to “Welt am Sonntag”, Rummenigge said, referring to Flick’s stay in the club, that “this has nothing to do with probability” and that “it is a fact”.
“We are doing well to achieve what we have agreed in the contract. We have clearly communicated this to Hansi,” he said. Rummenigge, who said Flick received his words “in a professional manner.”
At the same time, he assured that his relationship with Bayern, who has a contract until 2023, is “good and relaxed”.
On the 9th, the German Football Federation (DFB) announced that Löw will leave his position as head of the national team after the European Championship next summer.
Löw, who will leave his position early – he had a contract until 2022 – has taken over as national coach after the 2006 World Cup as his successor. Jürgen Klinsmann with whom he has worked as an assistant coach since 2004.
