The news that has shocked the world in recent hours was the way pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol during the Washington protests. In the midst of hours of tension, Congress managed to move forward with the session where they ratified Joe Biden as the new president of the United States. Against this background, users of social networks were active, causing various images of the event to go viral. One of the most unexpected because of his strangeness, however, was that of a man disguised as Batman supposedly walking during the demonstration. Did Batman go to the Capitol? Are the images fake?
It was through Twitter that the images of Batman – supposedly – went viral in the midst of Donald Trump fans’ protest. In the video, you can see a person disguised as the superhero supposedly walking through the Capitol. However, they don’t match yesterday’s protest.
“I had high hopes in 2021, but the Batman who came to save the Capitol didn’t see it coming,” wrote a tweeter who distributed the video.
Batman was not in the Capitol
Despite most asserting that ‘Batman’ was part of the “assault on the Capitol,” the images actually correspond to the protests that took place in mid-May 2020 for the death of George Floyd.
