Last month, the Korean site Elec reported that Apple plans to launch new iPad Pro models with OLED screens in the second half of 2021, noting that Samsung and LG are already developing screens.

However, following recent discussions with Apple suppliers, Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis, Thomas O’Malley, Tim Long and their associates said that an iPad with an OLED screen does not appear to be working for 2021. In a new note, research, shared with MacRumors, analysts said a launch is unlikely as early as 2022.

The period offered by Barclays certainly seems more reasonable, as many rumors suggest that Apple intends to launch at least one iPad Pro model with Mini-LED backlight in the first half of 2021 and it would seem quite fast for Apple to change the technologies of display twice in the same year with the launch of OLED models.

Apple is already using OLED displays for the iPhone X and newer versions and all Apple Watch models, with benefits over LCD screens, including higher brightness, improved contrast, increased energy efficiency, larger viewing angles and more.

Apple refreshed the iPad Pro in March, but it was a relatively minor upgrade with new features, including a Bionic A12Z chip, which is essentially an A12X chip with an additional GPU core enabled, an Ultra Wide camera, a LiDAR scanner and a sound better. microphones. Prior to that, the iPad Pro received a major redesign in October 2018, getting thinner frames, Face ID and a USB-C port instead of a Lightning connector.

Barclays analysts were the first to say that Apple intends to no longer include an iPhone charger. In the past, they have also revealed the True Tone that comes on the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, the removal of the headphone jack adapter with the iPhone XS and iPhone XR models and the removal of 3D Touch on all iPhone 11 models.
