(CNN) – In a year when many traditions were changed by the pandemic, former President Barack Obama is maintaining a habit: sharing his favorite books of the year.
In a Twitter post on Thursdaythe former president marked 17 titles, including Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste”, Brit Bennett’s “The Vanishing Half” and C Pam Zhang’s “How Much of These Hills is Gold.”
A notable absence from the list is that the book is his own memoir, “A Promised Land,” published last month.
“I’ll start sharing my favorite books this year, deliberately omitting what I think is a pretty good book, ‘A Promised Land,’ by a certain 44th president,” Obama joked. “I hope you enjoy it as much as I do,” he added.
