Banco Popular warned on Wednesday about a fraudulent scheme that takes place via text messages, announcing a vaccination event for people aged 25 to 50, on April 17, at the facilities of the Popular Center in Hato Rey.
“This information is false and we urge you not to provide personal information at any time,” the company said through its social networks.

In the afternoon, the Secretary of Health appointed, Carlos Mellado Lopez, stated that the agency does not use text messages to request information from the public.
“In the face of text messages circulating where young people are invited to be vaccinated, I want to clarify that the Department of Health or any of its 540 authorized providers in the Puerto Rico vaccination process is requesting information via text messages or social media,” Mellado López said on his Twitter account.
In turn, the official explained that the appointments for patients will be made through the portal protegetevacunate.com.
