A sheep found wandering in Australia weighed over 75 pounds of extra wool. The sheep, named Baarack, received much-needed shear from the Edgar Mission Farm Sanctuary after rescuing him earlier this month.
Under the heavy cotton wool, Baarack was actually underweight and is now back, thanks to his new friends.
“Baarack is getting more confident every day!” a TikTok is read from the sanctuary.
“That Baarack, despite being a prey and having so little contact with our species, will turn and walk towards us, curiously walking forward to touch our outstretched hand, leaving us in doubt that it associates the kindness he offered us with something he deserves to be associated with “, it is shown in a post on the sanctuary’s Facebook page.
They detailed the love and care offered by Baarack’s employees.
“From the release of all that wool, the removal of the long, sharp grass seeds that wrapped around his cornea and eyelid that caused a nasty ulcer, to the many hours I spent plucking tens and tens of determined grass seeds he has thrown his way into his flesh, Baarack, a being of reason, sees us as the good. “
A sanctuary employee said Baarack was seen in a forest by a man who maintained the property, who worked on a nearby property. USA Today.
It seems that the sheep was once owned, with a rind that was torn off, possibly by the thick wool next to it.
Sheep must be slaughtered at least once a year, according to experts, to keep the wool light enough for the animals and to prevent possible infection.
