“AYTO” star Gianna Hammer claims sexual assault on the MTV set

Gianna Hammer, a former contestant on the MTV series “Are you the one?”, Claims that a co-star “sexually assaulted” her on the set of the dating contest show – after receiving a pill during the production.

Hammer – who had a role in season 5 in 2017 – claims that she was assaulted by an unnamed cast member after the production allegedly gave her one of her prescription pills to “calm down” during a drunk fighting, according to a new report by The Daily Beast.

“I was very confused, super nervous,” Hammer told the publication the morning after the alleged incident, at a meeting with the producers. “I remember being shaken and not knowing what had happened or if I was in trouble. Then they asked me if I remembered anything that happened last night. I said no. They started going over what happened … and then I started really thinking and seeing some kind of flashes. ”

Hammer said the man she accuses of assault was not removed from the show.

An MTV spokesman told The Daily Beast in a statement: “We take these issues very seriously and have discontinued production / casting to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations, the third-party production company and to review continue our internal security protocols ”.

The producers of Lighthearted Entertainment rejected Hammer’s accusations and told The Daily Beast that he welcomes an investigation and “will cooperate with full transparency.”

“We are confident that any review will confirm the safety protocols we have put on the set for a long time.” Are You The One? “The company said in a statement. “We deny the statements made by the former competitor; During the show’s eight seasons, no contestant reported an incident of sexual assault to Lighthearted. ”

Hammer told The Daily Beast that before joining the show, she took a small daily dose of Zoloft antidepressant before bed. She said doctors advised her not to take it with alcohol – which flowed freely during the program – but received the medication from a local doctor every morning.

“Their logic was that I didn’t care too much,” Hammer said. “So if I took it early in the morning, it wouldn’t really affect me later in the night.”

That night, Hammer claims that, before being assaulted, she got into a drunken verbal altercation with a cast member. She said that one of the last things she remembers is that the producers said “I have to calm down and they will give me one of my medicines”.

“I know my colleagues in the cast said I kept telling them, ‘I shouldn’t do this when I’m drinking. I shouldn’t do this when I’m drinking. However, they said that it is OK, they said that it is not a high enough dose or something like that. So I took it. ”

Hammer ended up in a male cast member’s bed later that evening, but was taken out after her colleagues heard her say “no,” Hammer said she was told.

“I do not know how long it happened, but [another male cast member] he heard me say “no” and he jumped out of bed and said, “Get out of it,” Hammer said, being told about the alleged incident. “And [other cast members] He kind of got me out of bed. ”

Hayden Weaver, another distribution partner in season 5 of the show, who began meeting Hammer after filming, told parts of her story that night.

“I remember at one point I looked at the room and it was a room that showed where Gianna was,” he said. “I couldn’t see exactly what they were filming, I just assumed that I was getting some photos of sleeping people that I could edit into things for the show. I later realized that [the male cast member] he was practically starting to touch her and they were filming her as if it were a connection. ”

Hammer and Weaver, who are the parents of a young son, met for about two years before breaking up.
