The two destinations that will be reconnected from the 28th are: Houston – San Salvador and route San Salvador – Toronto, while the route Mexico – San Salvador will operate again from the next April 7, the airline said in a statement.

These three connections were suspended earlier this month and were scheduled to reactivate in April.

“In the coming days we will resume connectivity to several destinations that are very important for passengers in our region. We connect Guatemala once again directly with Los Angeles, San José and Bogotá; and San Salvador with Houston, Toronto and Mexico, ”said David Alemán, Avianca’s general manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

Other routes that are back in operation

In addition, Avianca explained that other routes that have been suspended, such as Bogotá – Guatemala City, which will resume its flights from March 28, as well as the route Bogotá – Orlando and the al Bogotá-Curaçao. While the route Barranquilla – Miami has been reconnecting since March 29.

There are also two more routes restoring flights from April 2: Guatemala City – Los Angeles and Guatemala City – San José; meanwhile the route Guatemala City – San José resumes connections on April 7.

Avianca reported in early March that the airline will operate the San Salvador-Ontario (Southern California) route in July, with 3 weekly frequencies on Airbus A319 aircraft, which will have 2,880 seats available per month.

With this route, the airline is expanding its connectivity offer between Central America and the West Coast of the United States, as it currently has flights to cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.
