Availability of 21.5-inch Dwindling iMac at Apple stores

The 21.5-inch iMac, both in its non-4K and 4K offerings, faces low availability at Apple stores in the United States, with delivery dates for online orders for the non-4K model slipping to a little over a week.

The vast majority of “Apple stores” list the standard 21.5-inch ‌iMac‌ as unavailable for download. The state-of-the-art configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Fusion Drive storage is not currently available for full download, but is available for delivery. Regardless of the configuration, Apple lists at least five to seven business days for delivery estimates.

The 21.5-inch ‌IMac‌ with 4K display has a lack of availability at several stores nationwide; however, it remains largely in stock. The larger 27-inch 27iMac‌ remains normally available.

Last month, Apple discontinued two configurations of the 21.5-inch ‌iMac‌ standard, making room for new stocks. It is rumored that Apple is working on a new iMac design with a faster Apple silicon chip, but no specific time frame for launch is known.

Next week, Tuesday, April 20, Apple will hold its “Spring Loaded” event, where new iPad Pro is expected to be announced. However, whether or not the redesigned iMacs will debut at the event remains to be seen.
