Authorities identify victim in Whitehall Township Walmart shooting | Lehigh Valley Regional News

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – The Lehigh County coroner has identified the woman who died after being shot outside a Walmart last week.

Nicolette Law, 20, of Allentown, died Friday after being gunned down outside Walmart on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.

Officials said an autopsy will take place on Monday.

Prosecutor Jim Martin and Michael Marks, Whitehall Township Police Chief, announced on Sunday that Edward Joel Rosario-Jimenez, 23, of Whitehall, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault; all crimes of the first degree; and firearm that should not be carried without a license, a third degree felony, officials say.

At approximately 6:55 PM on Friday, Whitehall Township police were summoned to report shots fired in the Walmart parking lot in block 2600 of MacArthur Road.

Upon arrival, police found two victims near a parked vehicle with the motorcycle still in the parking lot.

Both victims suffered gunshot wounds, Law later died of those injuries. The other person receives medical treatment.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office ruled that Law’s death was a murder and initially identified her only as Jane Doe.

According to officials, investigators were able to obtain and view video surveillance footage from the Walmart store that showed the victim’s vehicle arriving and parked in an area of ​​the merchandise pick-up area.

Within minutes, a black Toyota SUV came in and parked it directly in front of the victim’s vehicle, officials say.

Several victims have been questioned by the police. Their identities will not be released.

According to officials, a witness told police she had gone to the Walmart parking lot to pick up her child, who is also the child of one of the shooting victims.

The witness told police that she had arrived in the Toyota with Rosario-Jimenez and two other people and that Rosario-Jimenez had an argument with one of the victims. The witness told police she heard gunshots and left in the Toyota, but Rosario-Jimenez remained in the parking lot.

Another witness told police that, according to police, they had seen Rosario-Jimenez firing several gunshots at the victims.

Police say a gun has been found hidden in a snow bank next to where the shooting took place.

Edward J. Rosario-Jimenez was also arrested in a previous shooting incident on September 14, 2019, for some offenses of simple assault, reckless threat and terrorist threats.
