Investigators said they were trying to determine if the shootings were related.
Delegates were called to Young’s Asian Massage near Acworth, Georgia, for reports of a shooting, said Howard J. Baker, Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesman.
The delegates who responded found five people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Two people were pronounced dead on the spot and three were transported to a hospital where one died.
The sheriff’s office is looking for a suspect who they believe was seen on surveillance video at the scene of the shooting.
Baker said the investigators don’t yet know a motive.
Acworth is located about 31 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
Atlanta police said they responded to a robbery at Gold Massage Spa on Piedmont Road in Atlanta.
Officers found three people dead.
At the same time, they responded to the Aroma Therapy spa directly across the street, where they found one person dead, police said.
Police said the four victims were women and appeared to be Asian. They did not say whether they were employees or customers of the spas.
Atlanta police say they are at the beginning of the investigation and have outlined no motive.
