Atlanta Braves buys Orlando Arcia in trade with Milwaukee Brewers

The Atlanta Braves acquired the versatile Orlando Arcia field from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for two pitchers, it was announced on Tuesday.

Milwaukee acquired right-hand players Chad Sobotka and Patrick Weigel in the transaction.

Arcia, 26, has spent all six seasons in the major league with Milwaukee. This season, he had a hit in 11 bat-bats and averaged .260 in 2020 with 5 home runs and 20 RBIs.

He played mostly as a shortstop, but also saw time at third base and on the field.

Overall, Arcia has an average career of 244, with 42 home runs, 180 RBI and 39 stolen bases. He signed a $ 2 million one-year deal with the Brewers in December.

Sobotka, 27, had an ERA of 5.36 and 61 shots in 50 relief appearances for the Braves in three seasons. Weigel, 26, gave up 2 races in 2/3 of a half in his only major league appearances with Atlanta last season.
