The cold film captured rescuers desperately trying to break the windshield of a Mexican Air Force plane that crashed on takeoff, killing at least six soldiers, according to reports.
Learjet 45 crashed to the ground after taking off at around 9:45 on Sunday from El Lencero airport in Emiliano Zapata, near the city of Xalapa in Veracruz, Reuters reported, citing the defense secretariat.
Dramatic images show rescue personnel trying to break the windshield of the burning aircraft while throwing flames and thick smoke.
The six victims have not been identified and the army will conduct an investigation, the ministry added.
It was not clear how many people were on board the convicted flight.
“We express our deepest condolences to our comrades-in-arms,” the secretariat said, according to France-Presse.
