They say that there is no cheap Porsche today Nice price or no dice The Boxster is … a cheap Porsche. Its low price could make it an easy onramp at the Porsche property? Ar is a rocky road to future spending?
The path taken by yesterday Ford F-250 from 1979 it was definitely an interesting one. On the one hand, there were a lot of comments praising both the era from which the truck came and the general specifications and condition of the large long bed. On the other hand, there was that The asking price of $ 14,500, which, with a loss of 56 percent without dice, fell. The juxtaposition of praise and passing may not have aligned, but hopefully that cute truck will still find a new owner.
Speaking of new owners, many of you know that I recently purchased an older Porsche Boxster and are in the process of detailing the details happiness and trouble property to share with everyone.
My experience could very well lead one or more of you to take a “Porsche plunge” and pick up your own reasonable-capacity sports car from the German carmaker. If you’re so bent, then maybe that is it 1999 Porsche Boxster is a good place to start. It certainly seems to be the cheapest.

The ad for this black over Savanna Beige is easy to detail, although it does provide some obvious information. The pictures also tell a story. Here is everything the seller offers in the description of the car:
175K miles.
convertible.
In a very decent form.
He runs and drives very well.
Sounds ok.
Custom exhaust.
Top works manually. No electricity.
Suitable price for quick sale.
Clean title in hand.
OK, so first we find out that the car was 175,000 miles down the road. It’s a good road for a 986 and can make you wonder about the condition of suspension consumables and the like. Perhaps to alleviate these concerns easily, the seller notes that the car “Works and drives very well.” Not just great, but “really great.”
The disadvantage is that the seller rejects the aesthetics of the car saying that its appearance is just OK. The photos show this, especially when we get inside. On the outside, there are some obvious flaws. These include a few splinters of paint and drips, as well as the absence of both intake grilles and front side lights.
The car later has 996 headlights with more colorful signal lenses. Some people prefer them a lot. The rear trunk lid wears a Porsche badge instead of the expected ones Boxster scenario. The factory twists appear to be in decent shape, but there is no mention of how much life is left in the tires.
At the top, the convertible roof looks intact, though with the rear window cloudy. This is too common in these cars. Uncommon is the failure of the upper electrical mechanism, which is good because it is an expensive repair. This failed on this machine and requires the muscle of the man (or woman) to put the tip up or down.
The descent of this peak reveals an interior that has seen better days. The upholstery of the chair is cracked and torn on both sides, showing foam lining in places and gaps swallowing pocket change in others. The rest of the interior looks dirty and needs deep cleaning, but at least it looks intact. The rubber gasket seems to stay the same.
Other things to note here are what is described as a “custom exhaust” and the seller’s claim that the car has a six-speed transmission. We can see nothing of that exhaust but a two-pointed exit under the rear license plate, but hopefully the customization keeps all the catalysts. Regarding six steps: Uunless he had a gearbox a Boxster later Yes, the only way it could have so many gears is if you count backwards.
A quick VIN check shows that this Boxster is not an S and has the 2.5-liter 201-horsepower pancake under its now-manual roof. For those of you with your pants in a twist on the infamous problem with IMS, you can relax. The failure rate of the 2.5 was about 1 percent, and if the engine of this car had blown up, it would have done so long before it reached 175,000 miles.
The title of the car is clean and, in fact, we get to see it in one of the images in the commercials. It’s a good thing. From other pictures, we can see that registration came in December and the car still bears its 2020 labels. This may indicate old snapshots or the seller may not have wanted to re-charge a vending machine. Whatever the reason, it will need 2021 labels and – if you live in California, where this car is – a smog test to get them.
The car will cost you $ 3,500 before everyone’s registration, making it the cheapest Porsche Boxster to drive and drive (wonderful, remember) in the country. Seems like a business?
What do you think, is it worth getting rid of this worn but apparently not worn Boxster so much? Or, is it actually too cheap, considering how much will probably have to be spent to do it right?
You decide!
