Assault on Luis Muñoz Marín airport for wearing a mask

Authorities reported that they arrested a tourist on Wednesday for refusing to use a mask and assaulting an employee at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport in Carolina.

Claimant Xavier Vélez stated that a man on a flight from Boston, identified as 24-year-old Willie Watson, did not follow the instructions on how to use the mask and immediately attacked him with his right hand on the face and chest, being placed in custody by officers attached to the airport section.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place in the afternoon in the arrivals area of ​​terminal A of the airport.

The case was consulted with prosecutor Sonia Polanco, who instructed to submit the file for Article 108 CP (Aggression). The evidence was presented to Judge Wilfredo Viera of the Carolina Court, who settled the case and set a $ 50,000 bail, which he did not currently offer.
