Assassin’s Creed Valhalla becomes festive with a Yule event • Eurogamer.net

Ah, what could be more festive than drinking too hard and starting a fight?

The Yule Festival in Valhalla is now live and brings with it some festive changes in your Viking settlement from December 17th to January 7th. You can expect lots of snow in Ravensthorpe, along with partygoers and a variety of Yuletide activities to keep you entertained, including drinking fights, archery challenges and more. Participating in these activities earns Yule chips, which can be redeemed for a number of goodies in the festival store. You can take a look at the list here.

However, it is worth mentioning that this event is unlocked only after you have completed one of the story’s arcs (such as Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire), and the rewards can only be redeemed until January 7th. Items range from 15 to 150 chips in price, with the total amount of all items reaching 775. Players have found that the maximum you can win in a challenge is 70 chips making a full round of fighting, so if you want everything, you could be there for a while.

The Yule Festival marks the beginning of Ubisoft’s first post-release content season for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The next major update is the River Raid mode, which will introduce three rendered maps full of equipment, silver, runes, knowledge books and more. It will also bring a new Jomsviking room for your settlement, which will allow you to recruit more Jomsvikings for your river raids. As someone who has already eradicated all the monks in England, it is good to see that Ubisoft introduces a certain playback in the raid function with the next major update.

Overall, gamers seem to be quite happy with the Yule Festival and subsequent upgrade plans, but the recent move to introduce XP boosts in the store after launch has been somewhat less popular.
