SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio officials reported 200,818 total cases of COVID-19 and 2,990 total deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 154 new cases Monday. No new deaths were reported.
Due to a drop in tests, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said the weekly positivity rate reached 5.6%, up from 2.6% last week. Nirenberg said the drop was probably due to the spring break, as school districts did not test during the holiday.
Health officials also reported that 215 patients were hospitalized, 90 were in the intensive care unit and 53 were on ventilators.
There are 16% of staff beds available and 72% of fans available.
Nirenberg, along with Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, have condemned racist graffiti found at a ramen restaurant in San Antonio. The case is being investigated by San Antonio police, and FBI investigators say they are ready to assist if a federal violation is suspected in this case.
