Areas with light snow, sleet, freezing rain tonight

DETROIT – The sun on the weekend will extend until Monday morning, so grab your shadows when you go out the door.

The clouds will rise this afternoon and by dinner we should be completely cloudy. The highs should only reach the upper 30s (3 to 4 degrees Celsius) and probably reach 40 degrees in our western suburbs, as the east wind from 10 to 15 mph coming out of the cold lakes will keep the coldest eastern temperatures.

Today’s sunrise is at 7:45 in the morning, and today’s sunset is at 7:40 pm

Areas with light snow, sleet and freezing rain will cross the area on Monday. As the east wind mentioned above will enter the drier air of Ontario, that dry air will keep the amounts of light precipitation.

However, even a light amount of icy rain can cause frozen sidewalk, so be especially careful if you go out later Monday night – especially on bridges and walkways. Monday night temperatures will drop to almost 30 degrees (-1 degrees Celsius), then begin to rise at dawn. East wind at 10-15 mph.
