Apple will not host the iPad Pro, the “AirTags” launch event on March 16

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman spilled cold water on rumors about a special Apple event, supposedly scheduled for March 16, noises that started making the rounds at the end of the week, behind unfounded tweets.

Earlier this week, Twitter accounts “LeaksApplePro” and “FrontTron” claimed that Apple plans to launch a new iPad Pro, iPad mini and “AirTags” tracking hardware at a major event on March 16th. South Korean publication Daily economic news he later took over and ran away with uncorrobated gossip in a report that was quoted by numerous online outlets.

It is not known that “LeaksApplePro” has a perspective on the Apple business and has made erroneous statements in the past about new products and launch deadlines. Meanwhile, “FrontTron” seems to focus on Samsung devices and is largely unknown in the Apple world. Although not a provider of inaccurate predictions, such as “LeaksApplePro”, “FrontTron” has no experience in the field.

On Friday, Gurman, a well-connected insider with solid Apple sources, put the nail in the coffin and confirmed on Twitter that there will be no event on March 16. Although he fails to specify when the company intends to hold its typical spring event, Gurman notes “AirTags” I will not to be released on the 16th.

The seemingly false “reports” on Twitter were probably assumptions based on legitimate reports and historical release data.

Apple is expected to launch new iPad hardware this spring, with an annual launch cycle. Several reports indicate an announcement sometime in March, although this date could be rejected due to persistent developmental delays and the supply chain caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
