Apple is temporarily closing stores in Michigan due to COVID-19 conditions

(WXYZ) – Apple is temporarily closing stores in Michigan due to current COVID-19 conditions.

“We are taking this step very carefully as we closely monitor the situation and look forward to returning our teams and customers as soon as possible,” Apple said in a statement.

Apple has six stores in Michigan.

The coronavirus case rate in Michigan was one of the worst in the country. As of Thursday, there were more than 770,000 total cases of the virus, with nearly 200,000 coming in early March.

As of April 15, there are nearly 4,000 people nationwide hospitalized with COVID-19, and many hospitals are close to capacity.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer put forward several reasons why COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Michigan, blaming residents’ variations and lack of compliance more than a year after the pandemic began.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has extended its meetings and ordered a mask epidemic on April 16. The order includes extending the mask requirements to children aged 2 to 4 years.
