Apple event preview, “AirPods 3” leaks, “iPhone 13” rumors on AppleInsider podcast

The Apple event scheduled for April 20 will likely feature a new iPad Pro and rumors of “AirTags”, “iPhone 13”, Apple TV and more, all in this week’s episode of AppleInsider Podcast.

Apple’s long-awaited spring event was officially announced on Tuesday, April 20, as a fully digital event streaming at 10 a.m. Pacific. We expect a new iPad Pro to be the title of the event, with the mini-LED screen technology coming on the iPad Pro larger than 12.9 inches.

In addition to the new iPads, the much-rumored “AirTags” could be launched at this event, maybe even with the “AirPods 3”. Stay up to date with a special episode of the recap of the podcast airing shortly after the event and reviewing everything that was released at the Apple “Spring Loaded” event.

Several leaks of the “iPhone 13” indicate a smaller notch and a slightly thicker hardware design. In addition, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo issued a report claiming that Face ID will move under the iPhone’s screen in 2023, creating a true full-screen experience. Kuo also detailed a new 48-megapixel camera with 8K video support that could debut on the iPhone in 2022.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is working on a new Apple TV that would combine the set-top box with a HomePod speaker. The report also states that Apple is developing a combined speaker and touch screen device that resembles Amazon’s Echo Show.

Logitech has announced that the Harmony remote control line will be discontinued and we are so upset. While the company intends to support the software and add additional devices in the future, the decision leaves users looking for a universal physical remote control with few options.

Discord was then forced to remove some of its NSFW servers to lower the App Store’s age rating to 12+ and remain available to young teens. In addition, Verizon is giving up RCS, leaving little hope for a rich text messaging experience on Android phones, and blocking iMessage is proving to be part of Epic’s argument in the upcoming lawsuit with Apple.
