Anthony Davis will be back in 10-14 days; LeBron James is close

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis will be reevaluated by Los Angeles team doctors this week and could play again in the next 10-14 days, and LeBron James could be behind close to returning, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Davis, who came out Feb. 14 from a calf strain and tendonitis in his right leg, will be examined Thursday after the Lakers return from the current five-game tournament on the East Coast, sources said.

And James, who sprained his right ankle three weeks ago, is about to return to the line in three weeks, sources said.

Davis averaged 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals per game this season before injury.

James was considered a top contender for the league’s MVP, averaging 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists before Atlanta Hawks striker Solomon Hill landed on James’ ankle with his body weight. while trying to rob.

Reaching Saturday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers are 11-13 as Davis is absent, dropping from No. 2 to No. 5 in the Western Conference standings.
