Ant Anstead was in a “very dark place” after breaking up with his estranged wife Christina

Ant Anstead’s estranged wife, 37-year-old Christina, announced her shocking breakup in September, after less than two years of marriage.

And although he is currently “taking steps toward healing,” the 41-year-old Wheeler Dealers host acknowledged to people that the fight against divorce has put him in a “very dark place.”

“Every day is an improvement. Obviously, coming back a few months ago, it was a great success.

But fortunately for the native of Great Britain, he managed to gather his strength to get out of depression and to turn his attention to the “great things” in his life.

‘I got to this turning point where I was either going to live in the dark or I was going to hit myself in the face a few times and say’ Wake up; you are incredibly blessed. Focus on all the great things, “he recalled.

The first step to healing the ant took place when he decided to sign up for a 35-day online “recovery recovery” course, followed by a faith-based weekend getaway focused on harmonizing mind and body.

He explained to the press that the recovery course and withdrawal reminded him that “no one controls me but me” and that “it is up to me to empower myself and realize how incredibly worthy I am of healing.”

Anstead also found the strength to open up and support his 17-year-old daughter Amelie and 14-year-old son Archie, who live in the UK with their mother Louise. Ant and they married from 2005 until divorce in 2017.

‘[Amelie and Archie] they really are my best friends, ”he said. Ant revealed that the news of his divorce from Christina was “devastating for them as well.”

“It was a very, very difficult FaceTime call,” he recalled. “They loved Christina – I still do – and they really wanted us to work. I think every child just wants to see their parents happy.

Another person who turned out to be a huge savior for Ant was his 16-month-old son, Hudson, whom he shares with his estranged wife Christina.

He acknowledged that dealing with divorce “without [Hudson] it would have been incredibly difficult, “adding that the little one” was filled [his] heart ”and“ truly saved [him]. ‘

Gushing over his relationship with Hudson, Ant told people that “they like to go to the beach, read and go out and be active” together.

“He and I have this truly amazing relationship between us. We have this father-son connection and, I tell you, he is one of the nicest children around, ”said the star, who spent last Christmas with Hudson in Arizona.

As for what custody will look like for Ant and Christina before, the Flip Or Flop host applied for joint custody in November and, according to Ant, intends to “co-parent amicably”.

“There was never a scenario in which I asked for it and I didn’t get it and vice versa,” Ant pointed out.

Despite not being with Romantic Christina, Anstead said he hopes to “always have a relationship” with Christina’s two children, 10-year-old daughter Taylor and five-year-old son Brayden.

“If they ever need me, I’ll be there in a moment. All five children are the first priority.

Christina shares Taylor and Brayden with her ex-husband and coastal Flip or Flop, Tarek El Moussa, 39.

Towards the end of his interview, Anstead admitted that he did not intend to return to the UK and that he would recall to the United States.

He is currently “staying in a rental house in Laguna Beach”, which is in the immediate vicinity of Christina’s residence, until he finds a place to live that “feels like a refuge” for him.
