Another 413 cases of COVID-19, with another 28K more vaccinations reported Saturday in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – The number of COVID-19 cases in Utah rose 413 on Saturday, with no more deaths and an additional 27,809 reported vaccinations, according to the Utah Department of Health.

According to the health department, the average number of positive cases per day for seven days is now 394. The positive daily test rate for that time period calculated using the “people over people” method is now 7.6%. The positive daily test rate for that period calculated using the “test over test” method is now 3.8%.

There are 140 COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Utah, state data show. A total of 1,880,269 vaccine doses were administered in the state, up from 1,852,460 on Friday.

Saturday’s total provides Utah with 392,509 confirmed cases in total, with 15,901 total hospitalizations and 2,164 total deaths from the disease.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday at a PBS Utah news conference.
