Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.9.0 Patch Notes – First Anniversary, Bunny Day and more

If you start the copy from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there should be an update waiting for the game to version 1.9.0. Otherwise, you can activate the update manually by accessing the game settings from the Switch Home menu.

When you upgrade to the latest version of the game, you will receive a birthday cake via email. In addition, players can look forward to the return of Bunny Day on April 4, new seasonal items, improved custom design and more.

Below are the full patch notes, thanks to Nintendo’s official support page:

Ver. 1.9.0 (released on March 17, 2021)

The software has been updated if you see “Ver. 1.9.0 ”in the upper right corner of the title screen.

General updates

  • The seasonal Bunny Day event has been updated.
  • Additional support for Sanibo® Collaboration amiibo cards has been added.
  • New mile redemption options have been added to Nook Stop.
    • Custom Design Pro Editor +
      • Add additional custom design slots and new template options.
    • Custom Templates Portal *
      • Add access to the Custom Designs portal in the Custom Designs application.
  • The following content has also been added:
    • Additional seasonal items with limited time from Nook Shopping.
    • Nintendo Switch Online Member Article *.

* A Nintendo Switch Online subscription (paid service) is required to use the Custom Designs Portal and to obtain the Nintendo Switch Online subscription item.

The problems have been fixed

  • Fixed an issue with Ver. 1.4.0 if, if a player used a wand to transform, then exchanged his wand with another object, while their pockets are full, the player will no longer be able to remove the transformation suit.
  • Fixed an issue with Ver. 1.7.0 involving kits in which a player could dig where he normally should not, if they change their minds after using the “Let me imagine …” option.
  • Other adjustments and corrections have been made to improve the gaming experience.
