Hitman 3 falls to number 11
Animal Crossing: New Horizons returns to the top of the UK charts after temporarily losing its place to Hitman 3 last week.
IO Interactive’s stealth game drops to number 11, which may seem like a steep drop, but sales are actually down 68% week-on-week and it’s a relatively normal decline for a base game in the second week of sales.
Animal Crossing ranks 1st, despite a 12% week-on-week drop in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe rises to 2nd, after falling 12% the previous week.
It wasn’t just a drop, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War rises two places to No. 3 after a 2% increase in sales, while Grand Theft Auto 5 is up to No. 4 after a 7 percent increase in sales. %.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty quiet week for retail games. There are two new entries in the chart, PGA Tour 2K21 at no.31 (sales up 52%) and Fortnite: the Last Laugh package, which returns to number 36 after a 50% increase in sales.
Next week also looks pretty quiet, while next week marks the launch of the first significant game of the year: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on the Nintendo Switch.
