Christmas and Toy Day

Toy Day festivities will take place on December 24 – Christmas Eve – starting at 5 in the morning and will last 24 hours. On your island you will also hear music with a special theme for Toy Day – another indication of the holiday.

At the time of the event, Reindeer jingle can be found outside Resident Services, along with his bag of toys and goodies. There, he will be waiting for your assistance in the craft festive wrapping paper and handing out Santa’s presents to the other villagers.

How to create festive wrapping paper for Jingle

On Toy Day, Jingle will ask for your assistance first making some festive wrapping paper for Santa’s presents. He will present you with DIY recipe for the festive wrapping paper and ask to create 3 pieces for it.

To create each piece of festive wrapping paper, you will need one of each of the different colors of the ornaments, which can be shaken by adorned cedars.

After you create the wrapping paper and present it to Jingle, he will give you a set of Toy day socks – which can be hanging on the wall in your house. Make sure you do it that night so you can check them out on the morning of the 25th and receive Jingle’s photo!

In addition, Jingle will ask you for assistance in distributing Santa’s gifts to the islanders, after which he will give you a Magic bag, containing gifts for each of your neighbors.

Offering Christmas presents to the villagers of Santa Claus with a magic bag

Unlike previous games on Toy Day in New Horizons, a gift will be given to your neighbors in the Magic Bag automatically when you talk to them – no need to keep a list of suggestions or follow the items you would like.

If the villager has a high level of friendship with you, sometimes they will give you a gift in return! There will often be a different color variation of the toys you can get in Nook’s Cranny (see “Festive toys for sale at Nook’s Cranny“list below).

Although it is not a requirement she’s wearing a Santa outfit from Able Sisters – as it was in previous games – by doing so, you will get some nice SIDE from your neighbors.

In addition, you can check how many gifts you have left to share by clicking the Magic Bag in your inventory. Don’t forget talk to Jingle both when you’ve shared most of your presents, and after I have divided them all, for some special rewards!

Offering personal gifts to the villagers after handing over the gifts

After you have distributed all the gifts from Santa Claus, you will be able to exchange personal gifts with the villagers. Be sure to wrap each item in wrapping paper (they will give you a few, if you don’t have them).

Instead, they will offer you different color variations of the toys that could be obtained in Nook’s Cranny during December (see “Festive toys for sale at Nook’s Cranny“list below).
