The Chicago Bears added veteran Andy Dalton to the free agency as a way to tackle the defensive position this off-season. Dalton, who signed a $ 10 million one-year deal, was actually more of a backup plan, given Chicago’s aggressive search for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, whom the team mentioned that it is not traded at this time.
Dalton’s addition was not greeted with much praise, and it certainly opens the door for a rookie defender to be drafted this year, as Dalton serves as a bridge defender.
But where things stand, Dalton is the Bears starting lineup, which was one of the reasons Dalton chose to sign with Chicago. Bears’ social team has made it clear that Dalton is QB1, even if it’s not a decision that suits fans well.
This is how Dalton has fared so far throughout his 10-year career, from the Bengals to the Cowboys.
