On July 24, 2020, Governor Cuomo was asked about criticism of his handling of COVID-19 in nursing homes. His answer:
“I believe it is a political issue. I think it’s The New York Post, I think it’s Michael Goodwin, I think it’s Bob McManus, I think it’s Fox TV. I think it is all politically motivated. If anyone were to look at the facts, they would know it was completely absurd at first glance. People died in nursing homes. That is ashame. Just on the first line, we are number 35 in the nation in percentage of nursing home deaths. First, talk to 34 other states. Now go talk to the Republican states. Florida, Texas, Arizona. Ask them what is happening in nursing homes. It’s all political. “
We now know why New York was 35th in the nation – Cuomo was doing a criminal cover up to hide the real numbers.
That same month, state health officials were willing to say that nearly 10,000 nursing home residents had died from the coronavirus, the Wall Street Journal reports. But Cuomo and his assistants scraped those numbers from the report. realizing that it would destroy his entire facade of skilled leadership. Didn’t these officials know he had a book for himself to write ?!
Cuomo lied. He’s falsified reports. Then he blamed us, saying it was all “politically motivated.”
Plagued by nursing home investigations and sexual harassment, Governor Cuomo turns to his regular responses: bullying, filibustering, “await the investigation.” He swears he’s innocent.
But he has proven himself a liar time and time again. How can a New Yorker ever believe a word he says?
